Introducing Our New Conservation Window

19 Aug 2025

Are you a homeowner with a beloved period property, a charming cottage in a conservation area, or perhaps a listed building that needs a gentle touch? We understand the unique challenges you face. For too long, you might have felt stuck between preserving your home's original beauty and achieving the modern comfort and security you deserve. Finding windows that satisfy strict conservation guidelines while keeping your home warm and secure can feel like an impossible task.

Designed for Character, Built for Performance

At Input Joinery, we understand there is a delicate balance required when working on period properties, listed buildings or homes within conservation areas. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new addition to our timber window range: the Conservation Window, expertly crafted to retain historic charm while offering the performance and security of a modern window.

Why we Designed this Window

Working closely with homeowners, architects and conservation officers over the years, we've seen firsthand how challenging it can be to meet strict conservation guidelines without compromising on energy efficiency or security. We heard countless stories of the difficulties in finding window solutions that could truly meet stringent conservation guidelines and deliver on energy efficiency and security. Our new Conservation Window has been developed to bridge that gap, giving you peace of mind and a warmer home.

Made from Accoya timber, known for its outstanding durability and stability, fitted with 16mm Slimlite Krypton-filled double glazing, this window replicates the slim sightlines of original single-glazed windows. Imagine enjoying improved insulation and overall performance without sacrificing your home's authentic aesthetic.

Made for Listed Buildings and Sensitive Renovations

Whether you're restoring a Georgian townhouse or replacing windows in a quaint cottage within a conservation area, this window has been specifically designed to meet those planning requirements that call for Slimlite or heritage-style glazing. It means less stress for you during the planning process.

At the same time, it incorporates all the technical enhancements you’d expect from a high-performance window:

· Double weather-strip seals for superior draught protection

· Multipoint espagnolette locking and security glazing tape for peace of mind

· Ball bearing butt hinges to ensure smooth, long-term operation

Plus with its flush casement design and a wide range of customisable detailing, including traditional mouldings, stays and paint finishes, you won’t need to compromise on aesthetics. Every detail is considered to embrace your home's character.

Bespoke Craftsmanship, Built Around Your Project

As with all our products, every Conservation Window is made to order in our Hampshire workshop. This means you get a window truly tailored to your home. You can choose from a variety of frame, sash and beading profiles, as well as ironmongery and factory-applied finishes to suit your individual project’s style.

We’ve also made sure this window is fully Part Q compliant, having been tested to PAS24 standards, so it can be used in both replacement and new-build applications where security is a priority, providing an extra layer of reassurance.
