New Build and Refurbishments

Three recently completed projects in the New Forest, demonstrating our skill and expertise in marrying quality timber windows and doors with beautiful design.

The properties make use of our traditional sliding sash windows, casement windows, traditional French doors and timber bi-folding doors. By working closely with each client, we advised on the products and colours that enhanced the properties and what would work best. All were installed by our expert team and managed by our in-house installation manager.

Technical Spotlight: Traditional Sash Windows

For these projects, we utilised our Weights and Lines sash window system. This isn’t just a replica; it’s a marriage of eras.

  • Period Aesthetics: We used slim glazing bars and traditional proportions to mirror 19th-century joinery.
  • Modern Performance: Unlike original draughty sashes, these feature high-spec weather stripping and optimised double glazing to ensure the homes remain warm during harsh forest winters.
  • Durability: Each window was treated with a micro-porous paint system, allowing the wood to breathe while offering long-term protection against the elements.

Joinery Approach

Success in the New Forest requires more than just manufacturing; it requires Project Management.

"Working in a National Park means every detail matters. We didn't just supply windows; we acted as consultants. Our in-house installation manager oversaw the logistical challenges of the sites, ensuring that the transition from workshop to installation was seamless and non-disruptive to the clients."

From selecting the perfect palette of "Forest-friendly" tones to advising on hardware finishes that patina beautifully over time, our team ensured that these three properties didn't just have new windows—they had a permanent upgrade in character and value.

The final result is a testament to the versatility of timber. Whether it was the sweeping, modern openings of the bi-folding doors or the classic, vertical rhythm of the sliding sashes, each home now stands as a landmark of quality craftsmanship within one of the UK's most beautiful landscapes.
