PAS 24 Certification
In 2014, the Government announced its intention to deliver a radically simplified system, for setting standards in the design and construction of new homes. For the first time the security of new homes has been given serious weight and importance within Building Regulations, with the publication of Part Q in October 2015. Within the document, the Government has also recognized the BSI published Industry Specification PAS24: 2012 as the focus for the new building requirement applicable to new build properties.
At Input Joinery, our products have now been tested to these new regulations and guidelines which ensure the product meets the latest Part Q requirements. We have had all of our door-sets and windows tested to cover the following specifications.
Door-Set Specifications to Cover
- Single Door-sets
- Double Door-sets
- Opening In
- Opening Out

What is PAS 24:2012
PAS 24 (Product Assessment Specification) is an enhanced security standard designed to assess whether windows and door-sets can withstand a series of measured manual and mechanical tests to withstand the opportunistic intruder for a defined period of time. PAS 24 is recognized by Secured by Design which is the UK Police initiative to reduce burglary and crime by better design solutions
Summary of Test Type

BS 6375-1 specifies the exposure categories related to test pressure levels for air permeability, water tightness and wind resistance for external windows and door-sets.
Performance of windows and doors. Classification for operation and strength characteristics and guidance on selection and specification
BS 6375-2 specifies performance requirements for the operation and strength of manually operated windows and internal/external pedestrian door-sets in their fully finished condition.
