The Story of Input Joinery

01 Aug 2022

Our story began in 1979, when a young man, named Gerald Ruddick, identified a market opportunity for bespoke architectural joinery in the local area of Hampshire. He carved out a joinery business based on exceptional service and products and delivered a rich customer experience and aftercare support.

Input Joinery Limited is a family-owned business and has earned a reputation for high-quality products and excellent customer service. With extensive experience and knowledge in the joinery industry. Our mission is to provide our customers with superior quality, bespoke joinery, including high-performance hardwood windows, doors, roof lanterns, and staircases. We have committed ourselves to the design and manufacture of premium timber in the UK for over 40 years.

Moving to a New Home.

In 1988, Input Joinery relocated to a large factory in Andover to allow the company to continue in its expansion. This enabled us to buy our first Weining window line machine in 1992 and begin supplying and installing bespoke timber windows and doors to the market in 1994. As the desire for custom-made timber products increased, we installed a 5 axis CNC machine with dedicated software in 1999.

Our new and improved, purpose-built factory opened in 2002, and this is where you will find us today. While our commitment to quality has never wavered over the years, the way we approach the manufacturing process has evolved significantly. We have one of the most advanced timber factories in the UK, which was designed to allow for high levels of customisation throughout the manufacturing process. We are committed to a product testing programme in order to push the boundaries of product design and performance.

Committed to Quality.

Our factory is where time-honoured design and twenty-first century technology meet. Using some of the most up-to-date woodworking CNC machinery, the factory also boasts a state-of-the-art paint line, however, that traditional joinery craftsman touch is present at every step of the process.

We take pride in producing premium products, so quality and performance are naturally at the heart of our procurement and manufacturing processes. With this, a Weinig Couturex machining centre was installed in 2010 to allow for the most accurate machining of components. What truly distinguishes us is the way our manufacturing process has been designed to allow for high levels of customisation. We can manufacture truly unique timber products using automation while still providing the same superior levels of performance as you would expect from our standard designs.

Input Joinery has a dedicated showroom where you can see the quality and detail of our extensive joinery products. Our collection includes a wide range of traditional timber windows, sash windows, staircases, and doors in various styles, designs, and finishes. Protecting the Future.

Everything we do is guided by our commitment to sustainability, from procurement to product design and manufacturing. We take a proactive approach to ensure that pollution and environmental impact are protected, conserved, and minimised. In 2020, the biomass boiler was replaced with a new boiler and system upgrade to generate heat for the factory while reducing waste output. We work tirelessly to reduce the amount of waste disposed of in landfills.
